Hold the Universe in your hands. Deepen your astrology.

The astrolabe is a brilliant fusion of art, science, and intuition - an analog computer and astronomical instrument that reveals the dynamics of the heavens. In this workshop, you’ll build one, then you’ll put it to work. Learn how the astrolabe was used in astrology, including fixed stars, angles, and the motions of the Sun.

Note: The first part of this workshop will be a lecture with detailed slides. The second part will be hands-on and interactive as we build the astrolabes and learn how to use them. We recommend being there in person if possible, but you can still learn a great deal if you attend the event online.

You will also have the option to purchase an astrolabe to take home for a small cost of $10. It will be made of high-quality card stock, with multiple layers to make it sturdy. The kit includes two rulers and one alidade and will come in a polybag.
